Insights - Compare allows you to make better decisions by providing detailed visuals on how people compare to available roles and more.
Insights - Compare allows users to visualize and compare people and roles against each other. It can be used to identify competency gaps, compare performance across different roles, and identify potential areas for cross-utilization.
The software provides a variety of visualization options, such as charts, graphs, and tables, which allows you to easily see the data and identify trends. For example, if you're looking for in-depth data to find the best role for a given person, the app will show you which role is best and why.
The Compare tool is a central location in app to see and simulate how people and roles stack up against each other. With this tool, you can compare:
- People against other people
- One person against one role
- One person against multiple roles
- Roles against other roles
- One role against multiple people
- Multiple people against multiple roles
Based on your search, Claira will automatically populate the data visualizations that are right for the combination of roles and people you are examining.
The Compare tool is only available when logged into an Admin profile
1. To access the Compare tool, you'll click the Insights dropdown on the left and click Compare.
2. From this page, you can use the search bar to search for employees and roles within your organization that you want to compare. For this example, we will compare three people to one role.
Once the people and roles have been selected, you can click the Update Search button.
3. The updated search will provide you with 3 different graphs to analyze the comparison.
The first graph tracks the Insights Rates. This will provide you with a visual for each person's Tapped Competencies and Role Coverage compared to the role we're searching for. For a refresher on Tapped Competencies and Role Coverage, please refer to this article.
The second graph is a Competency Matrix. This allows you to see all of the competencies associated with the selected role, and how each individual's profile matches up.
The red cells indicate a gap in the person's profile, the yellow cells indicate a close match, and the green cells indicate a perfect match for the competency.
You can drag and extend the grey scroll bar to the right of this matrix to include more competencies if you're looking for a fuller visual, as shown below.
The third graph is a breakdown of the Tagged Competency Coverage. If you're utilizing Competency Tagging for your roles, this graph will show you how well each individual stacks up to the role based on the Essential, Growth, or Optional competencies assigned.
If you only want to focus on specific competencies, you can utilize the filter icon at the top right of this graph to filter by Competency Tag or Competency Group.
As mentioned earlier, while this example compared three employees to one role, you can also use the compare tool to compare an individual employee against multiple roles, or one employee to one role as well!
